CREATURE FROM BLACK LAGOON - ULTRA RARE RESIN BUST - McVEY MENAGERIE 1993. Presenting the finest portrait of "The Creature from the Black Lagoon" ever produced in plastic. It's another masterpiece sculpted by the hand of Tony McVey, and about the grandest Gillman you'll ever behold. Back in 1991, McVey stunned model collectors with his release of three large scale resin busts of movie monster favorites: King Kong, The Hideous Sun Demon, and his amazing Creature offered here. Two years later, answering the call of collectors who missed their first appearance, Menagerie re-issued the busts once more, limiting each to 20 castings.

This is one of those, #2 of 20, second edition, signed and dated by McVey with a Dremel Tool on the underside of the base. McVey's bust is a spot-on portrait of the classic Gillman, that almost seems to breathe with a life of its own.

Its a visual feast to view from any angle, measuring 8 ½ tall x 6 ¾ wide x 4 ½ deep, including its pedestal base. Yes, Tony McVey's dinosaur sculpts grace museums around the globe, and he's designed monsters for Lucas' "Star Wars" films, but this is one of his own early efforts.
