Octaman (Octoman) 12 resin monster model kit with base Rick Baker sci-fi horror

Getting past the film/character objectification frequently plaguing monster model makers/builders, this is an outstanding and very rare representation of Rick Baker's cheap yet chilling tentacled terror. The 1973 film was scripted by Harry "Creature from the Black Lagoon" Essex, and essentially follows the same narrative but to a decidedly different end. Obviously a troubled production, the 1950s dialogue seems particularly stilted set against tawdry locations (like a pet store) and dire declarations about the power of a decidedly non-threatening monster. This 12 resin kit gives a bit more life to the decidedly floppy tentacles that slapped the eyeballs out of terrified peasants for years down Mexico way, but the legions of Octafans wouldn't have him any other way. Equally rare base includes the squealing dime-store Octababy that met a cruel end at the mercy of a scientist's scalpel.
